During this difficult time of quarantine, I want to be able to help you take those photos you were looking forward to having done with your new babies even if you can’t have the professionals join you. There’s always a reason to celebrate those new babies!

Whether you wanted fresh 48 style photos, a studio session, or were planning on a lifestyle session in your own home, here are a few steps to help you capture those images you wanted for you newborn babies arrival.
- Natural Light – If you are taking photos in your hospital room, you will want to turn off the lights and use the natural light if at all possible. Most hospital rooms don’t give you much room for maneuvering, so this should work well. If you are at home, you will want to find a room with lots of indirect light to use. The brighter the better!
- Props – Swaddling baby in your favorite wrap will make for some photos you love. If baby is happy unswaddled, a cute onesie or even just a diaper is great too! If you have a cute rug, that will make for a nice background as well. The nursery, crib, master bed and rocking chair make great spots!
- Details – Zoom in on those precious little details! Hands, feet, nose, and their little profile – LOVE!!
- Family – Since everyone is probably home, make sure you get photos with individual parents and siblings. If you have a camera or a phone you are willing to let those little muchkins use, let them! They LOVE to be part of grown-up things and their prospective is a wonderful one!
- Safety – Please don’t try to put baby in a bucket or prop them in something where they may not be safe. Save the posed photos for the professionals!
Don’t forget to back-up and print those photos! We will get through this <3
Much love- Teresa
