We started at Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park just outside of Lena, Illinois. The weather was beautiful. The light was soft. The sunset only got better as the evening went on.

Lake Le-Aqua-Na is one of my favorite places for senior sessions. It offers peaceful water, wooded trails, and beautiful natural scenery. It’s the perfect place to begin a session.

Golf Courses Make Great Senior Photo Locations

Next, we headed to the golf course. Golf courses are one of my favorite locations for senior portraits. They offer so much variety without having to travel far. In just one stop, we can capture trees, open greens, bridges, paths, and beautiful landscapes.

Finding the Perfect Wildflower Field

Lilly changed into a cute jeans outfit, and we went searching for flowers. The flowers paired perfectly with the warm evening light.

The light was so pretty that I asked Lilly to put her dress back on for a few more photos. I’m so glad she did! The dress, the flowers, and the golden sunset came together beautifully. Those images quickly became some of my favorites from the evening.

Ending the Session at the Softball Field

We wrapped up the session at the softball field. I love ending sessions in a place that’s meaningful to each senior. Sports are a big part of many seniors’ lives, and including them helps tell their story.
